How to Prevent “Low Disk Space” Error Messages

January 13th, 2009 by @HKw@! | Filed under Windows.

Sometimes, when you try to open the C: or D: drive in your computer, you will get a warning about low disk space. Even when you try to delete files, you may still get the same message. Here’s what to do.

  1. Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
  2. Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Explorer.
  3. If it’s not there, create a DWORD value and call it NoLowDiskSpaceChecks.
  4. Double-click on NoLowDiskSpaceChecks, and enter the value 1, and press OK.
