If your computer is running slowly, it could be a simple matter of cleaning your cookies from your browser. Cookies are files that are left over from different sites that you have visited on the internet. If you do not clean your cookies once in awhile, your computer will run more slowly than it should.

Here are simple steps you can follow:

  1. Go to your main Internet Explorer icon on your computer. It will probably be on your desktop or in your start menu. Right click the icon “Internet Explorer” and you will see a drop down menu. Click on internet properties. You can also access this drop down menu when your browser is open by left clicking on “Tools,” and then clicking internet options. Either one will take you to the same place, but one will say Internet Options, and the other will say Internet Properties. It is all the same.
  2. Once you are in here you will see “Browsing History.” Click “Delete.” This will open up the “Delete Browsing History” menu. Be careful in here. You probably only want to delete your “Cookies” and “Temporary Internet Files.” Do not delete your passwords if you save your passwords. You will have to start all over. Be very careful of this.
  3. Now your computer should run a little faster if you complete this process about once a week, or more if you surf the net a lot.
