How to delete about:config Entries in Firefox

January 13, 2010 · Posted in Firefox, Win7, Windows

From the previous post,  I’ve made few changes in Firefox’s about:config.

Unfortunately, i  misspell an entry name and select the wrong type. I tried to rename it and change the type, but i fail to do that. Besides, i tried to remove the entire entry, but it does not allow me to do that. Is there any way to delete an about:config entry in Firefox?

Here i going to show to show your how to delete the entry:-

  1. Just go to your Firefox profile folder. The default location of the Firefox profile is %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\.
  2. Open the  prefs.js in with text editor or notepad
  3. Just remove erroneous key
  4. Save the prefs.js and relaunch your Firefox

Hope this post will help u. :-)
