How to run Windows XP on Windows 7

My Windows 7 Ultimate unable to run my old Windows XP application. Is it i have to downgrade my Windows 7 back to Windows XP?

Microsoft have the application called Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC. These 2 software allow us to run Windows XP on Windows 7 for free.  Windows XP Mode is specifically designed to help small businesses move to Windows 7. Windows XP Mode provides you with the flexibility to run many older productivity applications on a Windows 7 based PC.

How to install Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC?

  • Click HERE link to Windows XP Mode official web site
  • Just select the version of your Windows 7 and your desired language
  • After that, just click on Windows XP Mode button and Windows Virtual PC button to download the installer files
  • Once finished download the installer files, you just need to double click to install it. (Note: Install the Virtual PC 1st follow by Windows XP Mode)
  • To start the run the Windows XP, just click the Windows 7 Start button Windows 7 Start button, then select All Programs > Windows Virtual PC > Windows XP Mode to begin setup.

Now you can just install your old applications directly in Windows XP Mode which is a virtual Windows XP environment running under Windows Virtual PC.

Note: If your computer fail to launch the Windows XP Mode program, please check on your BIOS setting. In your BIOS, please make sure you turn on or enable the Hardware Virtualization setting.

    You can’t just simply turn on or enable hardware virtualization without a compatible processor. Your processor needs to have built-in hardware virtualization.

    Furthermore, XPVM runs via terminal services so don’t expect 3D games to run properly, if at all.
