How to display Desktop Icon (My Computer,User’s Files,Recycle Bin,Control Panel,Network) on the Desktop in Windows 7
In Windows 7, all the “special” icons like Computer, User or Control Panel is not show on desktop by default. and they are now missing, you might want to know how to add them back.
There are two different ways you can add the icon back
1st Method
To put the Computer icon on the desktop, click the Start button, and then right-click on “Computer”.
Beside Computer icon, we can apply the same method on User’s Files icon and Control Panel icon

2nd Method
Go to Control Panel -> Personalize (or right-click on the desktop and select Personalize), and then choose the link for “Change Desktop Icons” on the left-hand side.
Once you click on Change desktop icons link, Desktop Icons Setting panel will be pop up. Now you can chose the icons you want to show on the desktop by checking the box next to the name.
