Web Browser (IE & Firefox)unable to connect to internet, but able to ping it

I was helped my friend troubleshoot her laptop. Her Accer laptop running on Win Vista. She complain her laptop fail to connect to internet.
I have check throw the connection, broadband connection functioning well. I try to ping www.google.com received replies from them. But both Internet Explorer and Firefox could not be browsed.

How to use terminal command to update Firefox on linux

Firefox always release new version. We can easily upgrade it via terminal command.

How to do that? Follow the steps below:

For Ubuntu / Debian Linux

 sudo apt-get update
 sudo apt-get install firefox

For Fedora / Redhat / Centos Linux

 yum update 
 yum install firefox 

Done. :-)

How to lock Mozilla Firefox Homepage

As a administrator, management always request you to set the official web site as a home page for all the web browser.

If you want to prevent your user changing the homepage setting, you need to lock certain setting or option. In Internet Explorer, we can easily restrict the homepage setting from Group Policy. How about Mozilla Firefox? We unable to do it from Group Policy.
