<p>I got complaint from my user about their Thunderbird email client spell check function. According to them, the spell check function stop working. I tried to do misspelled two word in this email client to demonstrate the problem. I found that the email client fail to detect the wrong spelling.</p>
<p>To perform troubleshooting on this problem, i try to check on Thunderbird Options setting by using bellow steps .</p>
<div id="abm">
<div id="abc">
<div id="articlebody">
<ul>
<li>Select <em>Tools | Options&#8230;</em> or <em>Edit | Preferences&#8230;</em> from the menu.</li>
<li>Go to the <em>Composition</em> category.</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<p><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/thuderbird-composition-spelling.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2660" title="thuderbird composition - spelling" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/thuderbird-composition-spelling.jpg" alt="" width="465" height="370" /></a><span id="more-2659"></span></p>
<p>From the pop-up dialogue shows an empty grey box for &#8220;Language&#8221; which means that Dictionaries &amp; Language Packs installed on that computer. To solve the spell check issue, just need to manually install Dictionaries &amp; Language Packs.</p>
<p>Below are the steps:-</p>
<div id="abm">
<div id="articlebody">
<ul>
<li>Select <strong><em>Tools | Options…</em></strong> or <em>Thunderbird | <strong>Preferences…</strong></em> (Mac) from the menu in Mozilla Thunderbird.</li>
<li>Open the <strong><em>Composition</em></strong> category.</li>
<li>Go to the <strong><em>Spelling</em></strong> tab.</li>
<li>Click <strong><em>Download More Dictionaries</em></strong>.</li>
<li>Follow the <strong><em>Download Dictionary</em></strong> link for the desired dictionary. In this case, i will download <strong>English</strong> Language Pack.</li>
</ul>
<p><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/download-language.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2661" title="download language" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/download-language.jpg" alt="" width="495" height="370" /></a></p>
</div>
</div>
<div><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/download-language-2.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2662" title="download language 2" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/download-language-2.jpg" alt="" width="492" height="368" /></a></p>
<ul>
<li>Click <em>Add to Thunderbird</em>.</li>
<li>Wait for the download to finish; even if nothing seems to be happening, chances are a dialog will eventually appear.</li>
<li>Click <em>Install Now</em> under <em>Install add-ons only from authors whom you trust.</em>.</li>
<li>Now click <em>Restart Now</em>.</li>
</ul>
</div>
<p>Done!! <img src='http://www.techkaki.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p><strong>Shutdown</strong> is a very useful <strong>command</strong> that can help your daily administrative task. This program allows you to restart or shutdown your local or remote computers.</p>
<p>To access<strong> shutdown</strong> command, simply go to DOS command prompt by clicking on<strong> Start -&gt; All Programs -&gt; Accessories -&gt; Command Prompt</strong> or <strong>Start -&gt; Run</strong> and then type in <strong>cmd</strong> to launch a command prompt window.</p>
<p>Below are the few example on how to use Shutdown command:-<span id="more-2533"></span></p>
<p><strong>To reboot the computer:</strong></p>
<blockquote><p>shutdown -r</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>To restart  computer immediately:</strong></p>
<blockquote><p>shutdown -r /t 0</p></blockquote>
<p><em>Note: T0 restart immediately, use the /t 0 option. The /t 0 option ensures that a time-out period of 0 (zero) seconds is used before the command is executed. /t can be set between 0 and 600 seconds (0 and 10 minutes). </em></p>
<p><strong>To shutdown a computer:</strong></p>
<blockquote><p>shutdown -s</p></blockquote>
<p><em>Note: By default there is a 30 second delay with all <strong>SHUTDOWN</strong> commands, this at least gives you a short window to use the abort command to stop a shutdown if you’ve made a typing mistake. </em></p>
<p><strong>To abort/cancel shutdown:</strong><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<blockquote><p>shutdown -a</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>To shutdown computer immediately:</strong></p>
<blockquote><p>shutdown /p</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>To shutdown Remote computer immediately:</strong></p>
<blockquote><p>shutdown /m \\remotecomputername /s /t 0</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>To Hibernate computer:</strong></p>
<p>The following command will execute a hibernation directive and will within 30 seconds begin a hibernation and shutdown action:</p>
<blockquote><p>shutdown /h</p></blockquote>
<p>Just try it, have fun <img src='http://www.techkaki.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p>If your Windows 7 is running slow and you want to speed it up. Here is a tip for you. You can speed it up your Windows 7 by disabling some of its visual effects or turn of some of the unwanted visual effect. But your Windows appearance will not look pretty after turn of the visual effects.</p>
<p>To adjust all visual effects for best performance:<span id="more-2303"></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Open Performance Information and Tools by clicking the Start button <img id="pageContainer0_ID0EDHAC" title="Picture of the Start button" src="http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/Windows%207/main/4/f/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg" alt="Picture of the Start button" width="15" height="15" />, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type Performance Information and Tools, and then, in the list of results, click Performance Information and Tools.</li>
</ul>
<div>
<div>
<p><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/control-panel-search.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2306" title="control panel-search" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/control-panel-search.jpg" alt="" width="460" height="373" /></a></p>
<ul>
<li>Click Adjust visual effects. <img id="pageContainer0_ID0E1HAC" title="Administrator permission required" src="http://res1.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/Windows%207/main/1/8/18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b/18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b.jpg" alt="Administrator permission required" width="13" height="16" /> If you&#8217;re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.</li>
</ul>
<p><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Performance-Information-and-Tools.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2305" title="Performance Information and Tools" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Performance-Information-and-Tools.jpg" alt="" width="460" height="302" /></a></p>
<ul>
<li>Click the Visual Effects tab, click Adjust for best performance, and then click OK. (For a less drastic option, select Let Windows choose what’s best for my computer.) But if you want your Windows 7 look pretty a bit, you just select only the last four options</li>
</ul>
<p><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Perfomance-option.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2304" title="Perfomance option" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Perfomance-option.jpg" alt="" width="379" height="541" /></a></p>
<p>After the change, you will notice the speed difference. <img src='http://www.techkaki.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p><strong> </strong><strong>PPStream</strong> <a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/ppstream_logo.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2093" title="ppstream_logo" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/ppstream_logo.jpg" alt="" width="177" height="57" /></a>is a Chinese peer-to-peer streaming video netowork software. <strong>PPStream</strong> allow users to watch thousands of movies and drama serials from Hongkong plus shows from many other places.</p>
<p>I think most of you will  encounter problem on viewing chinese character on <strong>PPStream</strong> software. I also  facing the same problem on my Windows Vista machine.  I can&#8217;t read the channels, the display of all channels are ??????<span id="more-2092"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/PPStream1.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2097" title="PPStream" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/PPStream1.jpg" alt="" width="561" height="418" /></a></p>
<p>It is easy to solve this problem. All you need to do is to change the language display option in your Windows for non-Unicode program.</p>
<p>Below are the steps:-</p>
<ul>
<li>Click on your <strong>Start </strong>Button</li>
<li>Then, click on <strong>Control Panel</strong></li>
<li>Click on <strong>Clock, Language, Region</strong></li>
<li>Click on <strong>Region and Language Options</strong></li>
<li>Now click on Administrative</li>
<li>After that, click on Change System locale..</li>
</ul>
<p><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/vista-Regional-and-Languages.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2099" title="vista-Regional and Languages" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/vista-Regional-and-Languages.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="529" /></a></p>
<ul>
<li>Select <strong>Chinese (Simplified, Singapore) </strong>and click Ok</li>
</ul>
<p><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/vista-Regional-and-Languages-setting.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2100" title="vista-Regional and Languages setting" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/vista-Regional-and-Languages-setting.jpg" alt="" width="456" height="228" /></a></p>
<ul>
<li>After you change it, you have to restart your computer in order to apply the new language. If you not restart your machine, it would not work at all.</li>
</ul>
<p>Once you restart your machine, you should be able to view the Chinese character on your PPStream program.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/PPStream-chinese-word.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2101" title="PPStream chinese word" src="http://www.techkaki.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/PPStream-chinese-word.jpg" alt="" width="497" height="381" /></a></p>
<p>This tutorial should able to apply to <strong>Windows 7</strong>. I think it will work. <img src='http://www.techkaki.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
